Most recently, Storm Chandra caused widespread disruption and property damage across the country, reminding homeowners just how vulnerable properties can be during severe weather.

Below, you can find some helpful information on what to do and who you can call in the event of property damage to your home during a storm.

Insurers, unfortunately, have experience in major weather events, like storms, floods or big freeze events, and will usually stand-up additional staff to assist affected policyholders and to process claims as quickly as possible.

It is understandable that in the immediate aftermath of a major weather event that affected policyholders are focused on assessing the damage and starting the clean-up process, but it is important you contact your insurer or broker as soon as you can.
